BUTTERFLY VALVES

Butterfly valves provide a unique combination of simplicity, durability and reliability.  They are low cost, easy to install, ideally suited for open/shut services.  It is also suitable for throttling service.  The application cover a various range of liquids and gases, including water, natural gas, oils (animal, vegetable and mineral), dilute acid, etc.

Valves are manufactured and tested according to AWWA C504 Class 25, 75, 150 A&B, DIN 3352, DS 5155 and TIS 382, rated pressure to PN 10/18/25, face to face to AWWA C504, DIN 3201 F4, ISO 5752, Series 14, BS 5155 and TIS 382.  Valves can be provided with either Vertical or Horizontal shafts.

Standard valves are equipped for manual operation with either lever or gear (worm gear).  It can be fitted with hydraulic, electric or pneumatic actuators.  Valves con be opened and closed smoothly, flow rate can be controlled by varying the opening position of the disc.

 

 

RESILIENT SEATED BUTTERFLY VALVE (80-3000MM.)

Rubber seated valves are delicately and properly designed with synthetic rubber to ensure a long service life, and are rated between -20ºC to 140°C temperature range.  It is suited for bidirectional flow and can be supplied with either single and double eccentric off-set disc.

The rubber seat ring is mechanically retained by a metal ring secured to the body or disc, and is fully adjustable and replaceable without removing the valve from the line.

The mating seat can be of copper alloy, stainless steel or other materials as requested.

 

 RESILIENT SEATED BUTTERFLY VALVE (80-3000MM.)

SCI has developed double eccentric butterfly valves for better control and tighter shut-off services especially for applications where resilient seated valves cannot be used due to its limited mechanical and chemical properties.

Metal seated butterfly valve is suitable for bidrectional services, and temperature range from -50°C to 400°C.  Sealing shall be achieved by means of flexible stainless steel seal on disc.  Valve shaft be antiblow out design.

 

CHECK VALVES

SWING CHECK VALVE

Valves are manufactured and tested in accordance with BS5153 PN 10/16/25, TIS 383 PN 6/10/16, MSS-SP 71 Class 125/250 and also meet the requirements of AWWA C 508, generally recommended to prevent backflow with minimu, resistance for flow, because of full water way design.  Suitable for all types of water, air and steam.

Descriptions

Valves are manufactured and tested in accordance with EN 12334 PN 10/16/25, TIS 383 PN 6/10/16, MSS-SP 71 Class 125/250, and also meet the requirements of AWWA C508.  The tilting disc and 2 pieces bodies designed check valve accomplishes full flow openning by having the disc pivot or tilt in the flow media.  The opening stroke range is much less than than of the conventional swing check valves, therefore reduces opening and closing time, critical to controlling flow reversal and reducing water hammer.  The full flow area with lower headloss ensure SCI tiltilng disc check valve will operate with the highest efficiency and durability.

RUBBER FLAPPER CHECK VALVE

Description

Valves are manufactured and tested in accordance with MSS-SP-71 Class 250 and EN 12334 PN 16.  The unique design or rubber flapper disc with the hi-strength fabric reinforced which creates and elastic spring effort to close-against the flow, combined with the tilted body seat (closing angle 35) act to reduce the closing time, minimize the water hammer and flow reversal.

 

The simplicty in design, three components (Body, Disc and Cover) in one valve, and disc, hinge and pin are integral in one piece with fully special rubber encapsulated offer for maintenance free, 1,000,000 continues cycles tested with no sign of wear or distortion to the valve disc and seat, body and cover are ductile iron.  This valve will operate trouble free for a longer period compared to conventional check valves.

RESILENT WEDGE GATE VALVE (Waterworks and waste water)

Valves are manufactured and tested in accordance to AWWA C509, BS563:86-A, B, DIN 3352-4, ISO 7259-A-B, TIS 1413-2540 etc.  Face to face comply with ANSI B16.10, BS 5163, DIN 3202 F4 & F5, ISO 5752 Series 3/14/15/19, rated pressure PN 10, 16, 25 feature is replaceable wedge without taking the valve out from the pipeline.  Valve are designed especially for portable water, waste water and suitable for all types of water and air.

 RESILENT WEDGE GATE VALVE, OS & Y, RISING STEM, FLANGED FOR FIRE MAIN

Valves are manufactured and tested in accordance with Bs5150, PN10, straight through bore type non rising stem and rising stem OS&Y; the wedge is replaceable without taking the valve out from the pipeline, suitable for all types of water and air.

Descriptions

The SCI resilient wedge gate valve Model 105U is recommended for fire main and distribution service available in 1 1/2"-12" sizes.

Model 105U gate valve is designed to oofer resistance against high differential pressure, back pressure or back flow, also suitable for use as a tight shut-off and throttling service.

KNIFE GATE VALVES

FULL BORE, TIGHT SHUT OFF, BI-DIRECTIONAL

Description

Valves are manufactured and tested in accordance with MSS-SP-71, Class 125/150.  The knife gate valves are bonnetless, available for both non-rising and rising stem design, with cast solid body, follower and yoke.  Valves are resilient seating (compression sealing) with the wire reinforced rubber seat which located below the bore and out of the flow line (full bore), shall be capable of tight shut-off in both direction (bi-directional) and simple in-line seat replacement.  Lock nut or stopper on the stem precents the gate from being over tightened and the o-ring is provided between the layers os packings to sweep the sludge from the gate.  The full flow and Bi-derectional flow ensure SCI knife gate valves with highest efficiency are reliability.

Frames and Gates

Materials are in high duty cast iron constructed with substantial ribbing for resistance to deflection.  Frames connection are flat back or spigot type for extending into concrete spigot end type provide extra stiffening to the frame.  As for circular and rectangular penstocks, flanges connection are also available on request.  These types of connections are used to enable bolting installation to flange inlet pipe and wall thimble installation.  On each side of the frame, guide channels are provided for the gate and extended to a sufficient height to ensure that the gate is supported over not less than two thirds of its depth when at maximum lift.

Body seat, Gate seat

These consist normally of bronze seating strips of heavy rectangular sections pinned to machined surfaces on body and gate which are then ground in together to a watertight bearing.

Bronze strips are also fitted as bearing surfaces in the guides into which the gate lifts.  For sea-water or sewage, aluminium bronze is used or alternatively stainless steel.

Wedges

On each side of the frame are cast iron cover bars extending vertically down with adjustable block for limiting the downward movement of the gate.  Where tight closure is required and when under pressure forcing the gate away from the frame, additional top and bottom wedges are provided.  When strong support is required due to heavy loading, top wedging is a cast iron wedge bar spanning the gate, having taper faces against which the gate wedges work.  The number of wedges provided varies according to the size and shape of the penstock and the pressure conditions.

Stems

Both rising and non-rising stem construction are available.  In the non-rising form the operating threads engage a tapped lifting nut housed between lugs at the head of the gate, the gate itself being cast with a barrel to accommodate the projection of the stem at the open positions.

In the rising type, the stem is bolted to the stem nut and has the operating thread at the upper end where it engages a revolving nut in the actuator.

All stems are suitable sized for duty and furnished with machine-cut thread of stub acme form.  High grade materials appropriate to the service requirements are used, the selection of which is based on such factors as the nature of the fluid to be handled, the operating load, the distance from gate to actuator, etc.  Aluminium bronze and stainless are alternatives and regularly employed.
